work with

WWOO concrete outdoor kitchens

Dutch designer Piet-Jan van den Kommer sought a creative and multifunctional solution for combining a garden boundary with an outdoor kitchen. The ideal combination of practicality and outdoor fun. That was the point of departure for the design of Wall With Other Objects (WWOO), an outdoor kitchen made of concrete. A concept that’s popular worldwide. Naturally an outdoor kitchen is incomplete without a braai. Comfort Trade developed an adapter for the Home Fires Built-In Braai 1200 especially for WWOO. This means everyone choosing a WWOO outdoor kitchen can enjoy the surroundings, good company and delicious food from the braai to the utmost.

Mainfreight, reliable transportation

We work closely alongside logistics partner Mainfreight to ensure that our braais reach our customers quickly and undamaged. They ensure that the braais arrive safely and on time by container in the Netherlands, from Home Fires’ production location in South Africa. They do more than just transport, also taking care of customs clearance in Rotterdam’s port. Then they deliver the braais by container to us in Meppel, where we prepare them for delivery. Later Mainfreight delivers these pallets quickly and safely throughout Europe and beyond.

Mainfreight has transported our braais to some of the most unusual destinations, from the Swiss mountains and the British Channel Islands to German breweries and Caribbean islands. Whatever the location, it’s always a festive moment when a braai reaches our customers safely and without any damage, after covering more than 14,000 km across oceans and roads.

SlowWwood, the perfect wood for your braai

You can’t have a good braai without the best wood. The founders of SlowWwood have their roots in South Africa and understand the braai tradition. That means they know exactly which type of wood produces the best embers. Their premium braai wood meets the highest standards. They supply braai wood from the sicklebush tree, also known as the bell mimosa, Chinese lantern tree or Kalahari Christmas tree. Not only does this wood burn longer than other (European) hardwoods; its high density also creates brilliant coals with a very long glowing time, guaranteeing the most delicious dishes. The wood sourced by SlowWwood is cared for and processed in cooperation with the local population, and as sustainably as possible.

Comfort Trade has developed a special Braaibox in collaboration with SlowWwood. This sustainable cardboard box contains 15 kg of the best sicklebush wood from SlowWwood. We believe in the importance of giving something back to the local population who ensure that we get the best quality wood. So part of the Braaibox proceeds goes to the MAMAS Children’s Fund, which supports strong women in South Africa whose projects provide daily care, protection, food, warmth and love to children living in severe poverty. They help these vulnerable children to grow up safe, healthy and educated.
